The Best Technician Student Award celebrates exceptional young civil engineers in the East of England currently working towards an accredited HND/HNC or Foundation Degree in civil engineering. The winner must demonstrate a talent in engineering, impressive coursework and a strong performance in examinations.
The judges said Norman had shown a consistent high performance in his coursework and exams and demonstrated a positive attitude with a talent for engineering design.
Though she missed out on first place, the judges were also impressed with runner up Elizabeth Wells from Ipswich who was nominated by University Campus Suffolk. They were impressed with her consistent hard work, high standards and creative responses.
Nominations for the Award are received from course leaders or an appropriate staff member. Invitations for nominations will be issued in August/September 2015 and the winner will be informed in October 2015.
