BroadbandUK speed test performance January 2021

BroadbandUK's broadband speed test showed further solid growth in January 2021, running 192,457 speed tests in the month, putting the number of tests projected to be run this year at over 2.3 million.

The average speed of the combined Superfast (> 10 Mbps & < 35 Mbps) & Ultrafast (> 35 Mbps) connections was 59.7 Mbps.

The average speed of Ultrafast (> 35 Mbps - fttp or cable) connections was 95.6 Mbps.

The top speed measured 1,770 Mbps where the ISP was from ISP UK Dedicated Servers Limited.

Top speed measured from a major consumer ISP was 1,211 Mbps from a Virgin Media customer in Sheffield.

Second fastest speed measured from a major consumer ISP was 1,128 Mbps from a Sky Broadband customer in Brentford.

A total of 1,241 different ISPs were identified in the month of January 2021.
