Businesses showcase apprenticeships at Cambridge Regional College open day

Employers in the health, engineering, construction, manufacturing and catering sectors will be showcasing their apprenticeship vacancies at a jobs fair this Friday (August 21st) at Cambridge Regional College, designed to appeal to students.

The Apprenticeship Jobs Fair, held alongside CRC’s advice days for prospective students, gives post-GCSE pupils the opportunity to look at all their options after their exams.

Among the employers who will be at the event on Friday are Cambs Cuisines, Ridgeons, Cambridge Quy Mill Hotel & Spa, Shearline Precision Engineering and Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

Angela Hughes, head of apprenticeships at the college, said businesses could find their future employees at the Apprenticeships Fair.

“Apprenticeships are a great way to start a career – particularly for young people who like hands-on learning and want to earn at the same time,” she said.

“With more than 5,500 apprentices in training and links with nearly 1,000 local employers, we have lots of expertise to offer students looking at all their options after their exams.

“More and more companies are keen to employ an apprentice, and there will be plenty of vacancies on offer at the jobs fair so we hope some visitors could find their perfect job.”

Cambridge Regional College’s Apprenticeship Jobs Fair is at CRC on Friday, 21 August, from 9.30am to 1pm. Its Advice Days are on Friday, 21 August and Monday 24 August 2015, from 9.30am to 1pm. To find out more, call 01223 226315 or see www.camre.ac.uk
