About ARHC:
Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports individuals and their loved ones in Cambridgeshire who are living with a life-limiting illness and those who need end-of-life care. Arthur Rank provide specialist, holistic and tailored services from their Hospice in Cambridge, the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech, alongside within patient’s own homes.
With the continued fantastic care and support provided by ARHC to those in our local community suffering from life-threatening illness, and additionally their families, we are extremely proud to be able to give back and enable the continued success of their flagship events which aims to help raise £20K towards their patient care.
Why are we running this year?
This year we are running in memory of Bethany's grandad - David Chivers. David was a big part of Bethany's family and he will never be forgotten. Arthur Rank Hospice looked after David and Bethany's family very well and they will forever be grateful for how he was treated.
Bethany's grandad was cared for by the team at the hospice and therefore we feel really passionate about supporting and getting involved in this popular local event. As this hospice is very close to our hearts the team are training for the 5K and are also raising money.
About the event:
This popular local event has seen continued popularity and growing interest. The event offers prizes for fastest male and female, adult and child runners, fastest team and for the best festive fancy dress.
Welcoming runners and walkers to participate in this 5km fun run through the historic City of Ely, on Sunday 24th November 2019. The run is open to all ages and will begin at the Ely Cathedral at 9am.
