Cambridge Airport is home to new flight simulator

Marshall of Cambridge is delighted to welcome Virtual Aviation, a new tenant, to Cambridge Airport, located in new purpose-built premises on the Newmarket Road. Virtual Aviation is operating its new multi-million pound Boeing 737 Next Generation Flight Simulator, being used to train airline pilots, and this is the first professional flight simulator to be based in the region.

Cambridge Airport Deputy Chairman, Terry Holloway, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Virtual Aviation to Cambridge Airport.  They are an exceptional company, operating a very impressive flight simulator and we look forward to a very long and happy relationship with them.  I was very privileged recently to fly their simulator and only echo the many accolades which are being made about the excellence and sophistication of this simulator.’

In addition to being used for professional pilot training, the simulator is also available to members of the public to experience flying a large passenger aircraft under the instruction of professional pilots.

Cambridge to Hong Kong in one hour...

Something spectacular has arrived in Cambridge Airport. It’s a new, multi-million pound Boeing 737 Next Generation flight simulator, used to train airline pilots.

This is the first time that a professional flight simulator has been based in this region, and it’s one of the most sophisticated of its kind anywhere in the world.

The simulator is operated by Cambridge-based flight training company, Virtual Aviation, and it’s also being made available to the public, just in time for Christmas

Members of the public can come to Cambridge Airport and experience a flight at the controls of a Boeing 737, with hands-on guidance from an experienced airline pilot.

It’s an ideal present for the hard-to-buy-for person who has everything, and open-dated gift vouchers are available.

The simulator features a whole-earth 3D wraparound visual system. So you can take off from London on a freezing winter morning with blowing snow, then descend through the clouds and land in Hong Kong at sunset.

From 1st December, the simulator will be operating 16 hours a day, seven days a week and can be booked at: www.virtualaviation.co.uk
