Cambridge-based business leader Sarah Mardle named on the 2025 UK Kindness and Leadership list

Dr Sarah Mardle - CEO of Alma Business Consulting

Sarah Mardle, CEO and Founder of Alma Business Consulting, has been recognised on the 2025 UK Kindness and Leadership list, sponsored by the Financial Times, the University of Oxford, and Saïd Business School.

The list reflects a growing focus on compassionate leadership within the UK’s tech and science sectors. It celebrates leaders who create workplaces grounded in honesty, transparency, and genuine care for their teams.

With her 25 years in the life science industry, Sarah has led more than 200 individuals throughout her career. She has built high-performing teams by prioritising psychological safety, inclusion, and shared purpose. Now running her own consultancy, she continues to support leaders through speaking engagements, training programmes and practical guidance on empathy-driven leadership.

“When we, as business leaders, take even a small moment to be kind in our busy days, every single day, we show that looking after people is an essential part of doing good business”, says Sarah Mardle.

This initiative aims to challenge global leadership and show that both people and business can flourish in the workplace. It is grounded in research conducted with the University of Oxford, Saïd Business School and Hall & Partners, exploring what kind leadership looks like in practice and how it shapes organisational culture.
