The aim of the Dinner – alongside providing an evening of treats for those who enjoy the finer things in life, from the Champagne connoisseur to those who simply love knocking back the bubbles – is to raise funds for three selected local charities, Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, East Anglian Air Ambulance, and Cambridge United Community Trust.
Cambridge Champagne Company will provide the luxury Champagnes during the three-course pairing evening, illustrating Champagne’s versatility and diverse flavour.
On arrival, diners will be greeted on the red carpet with their first taste of the chosen luxury Champagne, and a glimpse into the evening’s glittering theme of fire and ice. The Quy Mill Hotel’s historic Waterwheel room will be transformed into an opulent Icelandic escape where diners can enjoy a sumptuous three-course feast prepared in the Hotel’s 2 AA Rosette kitchen. Each course will be perfectly complemented with a specially selected glass of Champagne from the Cambridge Champagne Company, while a specialist will guide diners through each taste.
Following the dinner, the ROAR charity auction will commence, providing diners the chance to win an array of glittering prizes, including one top prize of the evening. All funds raised from the auction will go directly to the chosen charities.
Paul Gibson, Co-Director and owned of the Cambridge Champagne Company, said: “We’re delighted to be a Cambridge ROAR Festival partner as it’s a truly worthwhile cause. In terms of the Champagne Dinner, we’ll be giving diners a taste of four of our exclusive Champagne’s, including the Réserve, Vintage, Grand Cru and Rosé. We’re also donating a Magnum of Champagne as one of the auction prizes. I’m excited about the event! It’s going to be an evening of full of experiences for everyone who comes along.”
Commenting ahead of the event, Tony Murdock, Chairman and Founder of the Cambridge ROAR, said: “This is a pretty cracking way to spend a Wednesday evening. Champagne is like expensive cars; there are many sports cars – but only one Ferrari, one Porsche. There are many sparkling wines but only one Champagne by origin, reputation and classification. We’re extremely pleased that Cambridge Champagne Company are on board – who better to help us perfect the evening than the experts!”
This event has limited availability, so diners are encouraged to book early. Accommodation deals will also be available for event guests – please contact the ROAR direct for more information.
