Cambridge City Council announces details of 4th Cambridge Mela

Cambridge City Council has announced details of the city’s fourth ever Cambridge Mela which will see a celebration of Asian culture on Parker's Piece on Sunday July 7th, part of International Day of the city’s annual Big Weekend celebration.

The Mela, widely regarded as the fastest growing event of its kind in the country, will see performances from some of the hottest acts from the Asian music world alongside displays of food, fashion and dancing, offering the opportunity for all sections of the local community to enjoy a taste of Asian culture.

Amongst the highlights that local people will be able to enjoy at the Mela are:

  • Some of the hottest names from the Asian music world including Juggy D, VP Entertainments, Team PBN with Bambi & Raj Bains, San2, RaOol, Nafees’, Mumzy Stranger plus much more!
  • Acknowledging the growth in popularity of the Mela, this year will also see the acts transferred to the large mainstage on Parkers Piece.
  • The Mela Food Marquee offering delicious Asian foods from local businesses and groups.
  • The Mela Community Marquee will feature some of the best local Bangladeshi acts as well as opportunities to learn Bollywood dance moves and how to play the Tabla and Sitar.
