Mohammed Mehdi Alhaddad works for Arup. Currently he is deployed on Crossrail the new high frequency, high capacity railway for London and the South East. Stefano Strazzullo originally from Rome works for Curtins Consulting. He has worked on various projects in this UK and a high speed train station in Naples.
ICE's professionally qualified grades of membership are internationally recognised and highly valued. Mohammed and Stefano, have met all the requirements of the ICE’s Chartered Professional Review and are now entitled to adopt the Institution’s protected title of ‘Chartered Civil Engineer’.
They were presented with their membership certificates by ICE President and former Master of Jesus College, Professor Lord Robert Mair at a special ceremony held at ICE’s headquarters in London.
Mohammed, who grew up in Iran and Iraq before coming to the UK, says he was attracted to civil engineering as an opportunity to shape the physical world: “Since becoming a civil engineer, there has been little that excited me more than saying I contributed to building or designing a civil engineering project.”
Similarly Stefano loves the sense of achievement: “when one of my designs gets built.”
Glen Owen, Regional Director for ICE East of England congratulated Mohammed and Stefano on their hard work and success in gaining Chartership of the Institution:
