Cambridge Director takes on Himalaya trek in aid of children’s hospice

SKAT Limited recruitment firm waved off one of their Directors last week as he set out on the challenge of a lifetime in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Stephen Gray, who is Business Development Director at the childcare and hospitality recruitment firm in Cambridge, is currently taking on the huge challenge of attempting to Summit Island Peak in the Everest region of the Himalaya. Stephen began his trek on Saturday (16th November) after a two day journey.

Island Peak is equal in altitude to Camp one of Everest. The 6189m climb will take Stephen 12 days to complete in treacherous conditions.

This impressive trek is all in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). EACH cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across East Anglia and supports their families.

Stephen has the full support of his work colleagues who are closely following his progress from the safety of their Cambridge office.

SKAT Founders & Executive – Directors Sohini Biswas and Desi Gray, said : “We are extremely proud of Stephen of what he is doing to raise awareness and money for such a noble cause which is very close to our hearts. After visiting EACH in Milton and seeing what amazing work they are doing for the families, we are hoping to raise £3,000 to help them in a small way. We wish Stephen all the success with his climb and a safe journey back home.”

Lottie Driver, EACH Corporate Fundraiser (Cambs & West Essex), said: “We are all so impressed that Stephen has chosen to take on this amazing challenge in aid of EACH. I wish him the best of luck with his trek and we’re enjoying seeing the most beautiful photos from his trek so far. The money raised will go towards the vital care and support that EACH gives, providing families with a lifeline at an unimaginably difficult time. If you can show Stephen your support by making a donation – no matter how small - it really will make a difference.”

The total raised by Stephen so far stands at £395. To support Stephen in his trek please visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/skat-limited.
