Hotel Felix is inviting guests to a special screening of Hollywood classic Memphis Belle after teaming up with outdoor cinema The Star & Mouse Picture Show. The event, which is a first for Hotel Felix, is open to all members of the public and takes place tomorrow (Friday 7th July 2017).

Movie-goers are invited to arrive as early as 7pm to allow time to participate in garden games set up in the grounds of the hotel, enjoy some American themed food and drink such as Southern Fried Chicken and BBQ Corn, Chilli Cheese Fries and Chocolate Brownies from the award-winning Graffiti restaurant and tap along to live vintage entertainment before the film starts at nightfall (approximately 21:15).

Shara Ross, General Manager for Hotel Felix, comments: “It’s a real pleasure to be teaming up with Star & Mouse Picture House to celebrate such an historical event which took place in the East of England. The arrival of the troops really influenced British culture by bringing new music, food and drink to England so we’re looking forward to serving up some American favourites throughout the evening.“

The Star & Mouse Picture Show provides outdoor cinema experiences at numerous locations throughout Cambridge. Film-goers are invited to sit back and relax during this unique experience whilst listening to the film through wireless headphones.

Shara continues: “An outdoor film screening is an absolute first for us so we are really keen to ensure the night is a roaring success. Those coming to the event can expect fire pits, hot water bottles, vintage deckchairs, merriment, decadence and most importantly popcorn.”

Between 1942 and 1945, during the Second World War, 180,000 American Airforce personnel were based in the East of England. Throughout Cambridgeshire, members of the Eighth and Ninth American Army Air Forces were stationed at 12 locations including Duxford, Bassingbourn and RAF Wittering.

Adult Tickets for the Memphis Belle cinema screening (certificate PG) plus pre-show entertainment cost £12.00 with an additional £1.20 booking fee. Concessions cost £10.00 with a £1.00 booking fee. All tickets are available to book online at http://bit.ly/2tqqRsa  or via the reception at Hotel Felix.
