Liberum Capital reissued its “Buy” rating on Johnson Matthey, up 0.7%, with a target price of 2900p. Davy Research reaffirmed its “Underperform” rating on DS Smith, down 1%. Abcam, up 7.2%, in its half yearly trading update, announced that it expects to report a revenue growth of 17%, mainly driven by a strong performance in the catalogue products business.
1Spatial, up 11.1%, announced that its cloud division has won a new major contract worth more than £3m from a global healthcare provider. Kier Group, up 9.1%, announced in its trading update that the group’s performance has remained in line with the management’s expectations. The stock received mostly positive ratings from brokers.
Dialight, up 7.9%, announced that Wayne Edmunds has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board with effect from 25 January 2016. Jefferies restated its “Buy” rating on Xaar, up 4.9%, with a target price of 580p.
Gaming Realms, up 3.7%, in its full year trading update, announced that it anticipates the total group revenue for 2015 to climb 116% to £21.4m. The company also announced that it has signed three agreements with Fremantle Media, Endemol and Zynga involving its leading games format, Slingo.
Ubisense Group, up 1.2%, in its trading update for full year, announced that it expects the revenues to be around £22m. Numis Securities is currently reviewing the stock. Netcall, up 1%, announced that half year trading was in line with management expectations during and expects to deliver a positive outcome for the year.
Elektron Technology, which remained unchanged at 7.1p, announced that Chief Financial Officer, Andy Weatherstone, who offered his resignation in September 2015, has agreed to stay in his current role. Cyan Holdings, which ended flat at 0.2p, announced, in its annual trading update, that it expects to deliver a further growth in 2016 with a healthy order book while it expects a significant rise in revenue through the conversion of its past orders into sales. Cantor Fitzgerald reissued its “Buy” rating on the stock with a target price of 1p.
Sepura, down 1.8%, announced that it will ship the first order of its new flagship SC20 series of hand-portable radios in February. Sphere Medical Holding, down 2.9%, announced that it witnessed the first sale of its lead product, Proxima system, to the University Medical Centre Göttingen in Germany.
UK markets ended higher last week, led by rises in financial and commodity sector stocks. Meanwhile, the economy grew at a faster rate in the fourth quarter compared to the previous quarter. The FTSE 100 index climbed 3.1% to 6,083.8, while the FTSE AIM 100 Index advanced 0.5% to finish at 3,263.1. The FTSE techMARK 100 Index edged 1.9% higher to 3,819.2.
US markets closed firmer in the previous week, amid strong corporate earnings. However, the early gains were trimmed after the ederal Reserve stated that the nation’s growth has slowed down since its December meeting. The DJIA index gained 2.3% to 16,466.3, while the NASDAQ Index rose 0.5% to 4,614.
