Barclays initiated its “Overweight” rating on DS Smith, up 7.8%, with a target price of 465p. N+1 Singer reiterated its “Hold” rating on Greene King, down 3.5%, with a target price of 800p.
Cyan Holdings, up 5.6%, announced that it has raised approximately £1.05m from Thailand-based J. S. Technical Services Company Limited (JST). JST subscribed for 583.33m shares in Cyan at a price of 0.18p. The company will use the net proceeds of the subscription for working capital purposes. Cantor Fitzgerald reissued its “Buy” rating on the stock with a target price of 0.7p.
Dialight, up 2.1%, announced that it has appointed Mrs Gaelle Hotellier as Non-Executive Director of the company, with effect from 3 October 2016. She will join the Audit and Nominations Committee of the company, as David Blood has stepped down.
Peel Hunt initiated its “Buy” rating on Gaming Realms, up 1.3%, with a target price of 40p.
Sepura, which remained flat at 17p, announced that it has won a contract from a large continental European public safety organisation to provide 19,000 SC20 series hand-portable radios. Brady, which remained unchanged at 68p, announced that Peter Harverson has stepped down as its Non-Executive Director and hence, Elizabeth Sipiere will take his place with immediate effect. Elizabeth will also act as an interim Chief Operating Officer until a new CEO is appointed.
Shares of Amino Technologies were trading more than 7% higher on 10 October 2016, after it announced its trading update for the ten months ended 30 September 2016. The Board stated that the trading during the period was ahead of previous expectations, mainly due to strong orders in August and positive effects of foreign exchange. Moreover, the Board expects full year revenues to be marginally ahead of current market expectations.
UK markets ended higher in the prior week, after data released showed that the Markit manufacturing and services PMI came in better than expected in September. However the Prime Minister stated that the UK would commence the formal negotiation process of leaving the European Union in Q1 2017, raising concerns regarding a possible hard Brexit. The FTSE 100 index advanced 2.1% to 7,044.4, while the FTSE AIM 100 index added 1.2% to close at 3,976. The FTSE techMARK 100 index rose 2.2% to 4,477.4.
US markets ended lower last week, as the nation added fewer than expected jobs in September, causing the unemployment rate to rise to 5%. The DJIA index fell 0.4% to 18,240.5, while the NASDAQ index lost 0.4% to 5,292.4.
