Canaccord Genuity upgraded its rating on ARM Holdings, down 0.8%, to “Buy”. BNP Paribas reaffirmed its “Outperform” rating on the stock with a price target of 1100p.
Blinkx, up 11.8%, indicated that it has issued and allotted 511,197 new ordinary shares of 1p each in the company, in respect of deferred consideration in relation to the acquisition of Rhythm NewMedia.
Horizon Discovery Group, up 8%, stated that its diagnostics unit has signed a contract worth around $810,000 with a leading molecular diagnostics company. The identity of the company was not revealed. N+1 Singer reiterated its “Buy” rating on the stock with a target price of 183p. Singer also maintained its “Buy” rating on Vernalis, up 0.2%, and lowered its target price to 87p from 89p.
UK markets ended mostly lower past week, as investor sentiment was dented following political instability in Greece. The FTSE 100 index lost 0.9% to 6,547.8. However the FTSE AIM 100 Index advanced 1.7% to finish at 3,105.5. The FTSE techMARK 100 Index edged 0.9% lower to 3,513.3.
US markets closed lower in the previous week, as a rise in initial jobless claims and a drop in ISM manufacturing output weakened sentiment . A lower rise than anticipated in consumer confidence data for December added to the negative feeling. The DJIA index fell 1.2% to 17,833, while the NASDAQ Index declined 1.7% to 4,726.8.
