Cambridge Judge students shortlisted as future stars

Recent Cambridge Judge Business School students Toni Thorne (MBA 2020) and Dr Bola Grace (EMBA 2019) are shortlisted for the Women of the Future Awards.

Two recent students in the MBA and Executive MBA programmes at Cambridge Judge Business School have been named to the shortlist of the Women of the Future Awards, which recognise successful young women in Britain. The winners will be announced on 10 November at a ceremony at London’s Park Lane Hotel.

Toni Thorne, a recent student on the Cambridge MBA programme (MBA 2020) was shortlisted for the MBA Star award, which “recognises a female MBA student of exceptional vision, talent and promise,” and is designed to “identify individual stories of current or former MBA students with a compelling life-story and exciting visions for the future.” Toni, a native of Barbados who was involved with the Wo+Men’s Leadership Centre at Cambridge Judge, was recently named to the ‘Best & Brightest MBA’ list by the business school publication Poets & Quants.

Dr Bola Grace (EMBA 2019) was shortlisted in the ‘Mentor of the Year’ category, which “recognises active mentors behind the success of younger women in British life. Many successful women pay tribute to role models and supporters who have enabled them to flourish in business, professional life, science or whatever their chosen field.” Bola founded Orishi, a firm which provides inclusive innovations solutions, and she recently took on a non-executive board position at Levin Sources, a social enterprise in the minerals sector.

The Women of the Future Awards, founded by Pinky Lilani CBE DL, are now in their 16th year. The awards are designed to “unearth and recognise the inspirational stars of tomorrow across diverse sectors.” HRH The Countess of Wessex is Global Ambassador; Cherie Blair is patron of the Women of the Future Awards; and Baroness Gabrielle Bertin is Chair of the Awards judging panel.
