Cambridge MP tucks into a healthy breakfast for BHF

Cambridge MP Daniel Zeichner joined staff at Cambridge Regional College for a healthy cooked breakfast – and wore red – in support of the British Heart Foundation’s ‘Wear it Beat it’ campaign.

He tucked into a plate of poached eggs on toast with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes at the fundraising breakfast in the college’s Park restaurant, alongside 50 staff from across the college.

The MP said he had enjoyed his meal. “It was great to have the opportunity to come to the college and enjoy a healthy cooked breakfast in aid of a fantastic cause,” he said.

All money from the breakfast will be donated to the charity, thanks to generous support from a number of  businesses  - Cambs Cuisine donated the eggs, Warburtons provided crumpets and teacakes, Greggs donated bread for the breakfast toast, the juice was supplied by Tesco and mushrooms and tomatoes donated by G’s Fresh.

The college followed the charity’s advice for a healthy cooked breakfast to launch their college-wide Wear Red day in aid of research into heart disease, raising more than £350.
