Launched as part of the Government’s “Get Britain Working” White Paper, the scheme is designed to bring together local partners to support young people who are furthest from the labour market, helping them to access education, apprenticeships, training opportunities and good jobs.
The additional funding means that each of the eight Trailblazer areas across the country will receive up to £5 million next year, bringing the total investment to £90 million across 2025/26 and 2026/27.
The funding allows each area’s Mayoral Strategic Authority to work with local partners such as schools, colleges, employers and community organisations to identify and support young people who might otherwise fall through the gaps.
By extending opportunities for skills training, apprenticeships and employment, the Youth Guarantee aims to address local skills shortages and help young people build brighter futures.
