Thousands of visitors are expected to the premier career showcase on Wednesday 20 January, run by the Cambridge News and sponsored by CRC.
The college will be exhibiting at the event, which takes place at the city’s Corn Exchange, with a big emphasis on career-boosting professional and technical training and apprenticeships.
CRC is one of the country’s leading providers of apprenticeship programmes and can help job-seekers find the perfect opening, with vacancies available in a wide range of sectors.
Angela Hughes, head of apprenticeship programmes at Cambridge Regional College, said: “Apprenticeships are a great route into work for people ready to take their first steps on to the career ladder, upskilling in their current role or looking to change their jobs.
“They are available at intermediate, advanced or degree level, for people of all ages, and provide employers with the skilled workforce of the future, giving them the trained employees they need to boost productivity and growth.”
Dozens of local businesses will be exhibiting at the event, providing information and advice about job opportunities and training courses. Admission is free to the public.
Among those already signed up are healthcare firm Nurse Plus, which provides recruitment services for nursing, carer and support work staff, restaurant chain McDonalds, skip specialists Mick George, and Cambridge's British Antarctic Survey, the polar science research organisation.
Organiser Nicola Gamlin from the News, said: "The Cambridge News Job Fair is the perfect opportunity for anyone looking for a new career. Instead of wasting hours trawling the internet and attending the wrong interviews, this is the chance to meet a fantastic range of local employers in one place, on one day. People can see if the company fits, and if it does, take the next steps in securing their dream job.
