The offer, which applies to level 2 courses, is open to companies with fewer than 250 employees and available for staff aged 19 and over. Training in Customer Service, Team Leading and Management, Information Technology, Sales and Marketing has been identified as key areas for development.
Laraine Moody, assistant principal and head of employer engagement at Cambridge Regional College, said the funding from the European Social Fund provided a great opportunity for local businesses.
“Employers can choose which occupational area would benefit them most, whether it’s improving their staff’s customer service skills, developing their team-leading and management skills, or bringing their IT skills up to date,” she said.
“The ESF objective is to develop a skilled and adaptable workforce by reducing the number of workers without basic skills; increasing the number of workers qualified to level 2 and developing managers and workers in small enterprises.
“CRC is working in partnership to deliver the training and we’re looking forward to working with businesses to develop the professional skills of their staff, and enable them, if they choose, to progress on to full qualifications such as apprenticeships.”
