Cambridge Regional College receives outstanding safety award

Cambridge Regional College has been awarded an Order of Distinction in the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards – one of just four colleges in the country to receive the top honour.

The Order is RoSPA’s highest award and recognises the college’s outstanding health and safety performance and its achievement in winning 18 consecutive Gold awards over the last 18 years.

Just 72 outstanding organisations from across the country were presented with the Order of Distinction this year, including KPMG LLP, Kier Construction, Costain Oil & Gas and Esso Petroleum.

It marks CRC’s continuing work on safeguarding students, staff and visitors, as well as promoting and raising awareness of safety in all areas of the college, including student competitions and workshops.

CRC’s Health and Safety Manager Jeff Moody said it was a great achievement for the college to receive the Order of Distinction.

“We place great importance on health and safety in all areas of the college and it is a great honour that this commitment has been recognised with the RoSPA Order of Distinction,” he said.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “To win an award at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for our winners. It recognises their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations.”

The RoSPA Awards 2016 were sponsored by NEBOSH, the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, for the 11th consecutive year. For more information about the RoSPA Awards visit www.rospa.com/awards
