Cambridge Regional College sponsors leading job fair

Cambridge Regional College is sponsoring this month's Jobfair 2013, the region’s leading employment and careers event which is expected to attract more than 3,500 people.

The college will have a major presence at the fair, with career advisers, training specialists and apprenticeship experts on hand to help visitors improve their job prospects.

The event, organised by the Cambridge News, takes place at the Corn Exchange in Cambridge on January 23, and has seen a big demand from businesses keen to exhibit – with more than 30 companies across a dozen industries taking part.

It is the first time the college has played such a leading role in the event, which has been running – and expanding – for ten years.

“The right training and advice is crucial to achieving a great future – and we have the skills and knowledge to help people climb the ladder to success. That’s why we are proud to sponsor the Job Fair 2013, taking the lead in bringing more opportunities to job-hunters and employers,” said CRC assistant principal Laraine Moody, who heads employer engagement at the college.

“Our specialist range of business and management professional qualifications and highly-regarded work-related courses help develop careers and put employees in a great position when it comes to promotion.

“All our qualifications are nationally recognised and taught by industry experts who understand business and know what it takes to succeed. Courses vary from industry-specific short workshops to specialist accounting qualifications.”

With experienced careers advisers, expert professional trainers and apprenticeship tutors among the best in their field, the college has one of the biggest workplace learning programmes in the region, alongside its highly acclaimed further education provision.

CRC also runs one of the largest and most successful apprenticeship programmes in the region, and specialist apprenticeship advisers will be at the Job Fair with details of current vacancies on offer – so visitors could find themselves with a good chance of getting an immediate job. It’s a route which can lead to a huge variety of careers, from business or engineering, to healthcare or beauty therapy, with the advantage of being paid while learning.

The college is also a major employer in its own right, and CRC’s HR team will be at the Job Fair with information on working at the college and a list of vacancies – go to www.camre.ac.uk/jobs to find out more about some great opportunities, email training@camre.ac.uk or ring 01223 418778.
