Cambridge TV Training films at the new Ice Arena

The long-awaited Ice Arena has opened in Cambridge, and covers more than just skating. Cambridge TV Training examines the new facility, its environmental impact, uses and popularity.

The film crew also finds out how easy it is to learn, how the rink came into being and why university ice hockey team members are so pleased to have access to this new facility.

Joa Hoshizaki, captain of the Cambridge University Women's Ice Hockey Team, said: "Before, we were commuting an hour on a late Sunday night and for our whole history we've only ever practised one hour a week and now our whole club gets 10 hours a week for all of our four teams. It will be amazing. The ice itself is beautiful, the best ice I've played on."
