A lot has changed in 30 years. Petrol is no longer 38p a litre, a mobile phone is no longer the size of a brick, you can buy coffee in specialist coffee shops on just about every High Street and sadly a lot of people would rather send an email than pick up the phone. What a choice we all have now!
But here at Cambridge Vending one thing has remained a constant: the desire to change with the times, yet still be the best regional supplier for vending, coffee and refreshment services in the county.
Our chairman Ian Sutcliffe started the business from home, using his car to get round what started as a small machine base in Cambridge. Now we have a team of 26 including 12 route operators and three engineers, many of whom have won or been runners up as the best of their kind in the industry.
Our latest range of machinery – somewhat different from 1986 –can offer a snack/cold drinks machine that is carbon neutral, which phones back to the office when it needs to be filled or repaired and guarantees product delivery.
Thirty years ago people were happy with a small plastic cup of plain instant coffee; today our latest coffee machines match the offerings from the High Street coffee shops with high pressure brewers making the perfect Espresso from freshly ground beans and machines using premium instant coffees delivering a huge range of drinks options. We also have both fresh and dried milk machines; who would have thought all this would be available at the touch of a button 30 years ago? It is our goal to make sure everybody in Cambridgeshire has the best possible cup of coffee or tea at work every day!
Celebrate with us on our Open Day
To celebrate our 30th anniversary we are opening our showroom on Tuesday 7th June to show our range of machines and products and of course to let you try out a tea or coffee from one of our premium refreshment systems!
Our doors are open from 8am-5pm and free food and refreshments will be available all day.
