CCS small cell microwave backhaul nets Telecoms.com Awards nomination

CCS (Cambridge Communication Systems Limited), creator of the world’s first self-organising small cell microwave backhaul system for mobile networks, today announces that it has been shortlisted for a hotly-contested Telecoms.com award in the “Pushing The Mobile Limits” category.

This award is for companies that have made a "significant, ground-breaking technological achievement" and recognises those that have "pushed the boundaries of network functionality, affording a glimpse of future mass market improvements".

The Telecoms.com Awards are selected by an independent panel of judges with many decades of industry experience, together with specialist judges who lent their insights for particular categories. The award nominees and winners will be celebrated at a special awards dinner in London on Thursday 4th December, hosted by comedian Lucy Porter.

The Telecoms.com shortlisting adds to CCS’ impressive and growing list of industry plaudits this year, including nominations for the Fierce Innovation Awards, IET Innovation Awards, World Communication Awards, Leading Lights Awards, and overall wins in the Small Cell Forum Industry Awards and Cambridge News Top Innovations 2014 Awards.

CCS’ pioneering self-organising small cell backhaul system has been winning the attention of awards judges worldwide as the first backhaul solution that makes outdoor small cells truly viable. The small outdoor devices provide a resilient network of high capacity and low latency, as well as being easily installed in less than fifteen minutes. In October, CCS’ expanded its first commercial deployment with China Mobile – the world’s largest mobile operator – with a further installation in its Fujian Mobile branch.

Commenting on CCS’ Telecoms.com shortlisting, CEO and Co-Founder Steve Greaves said: “It’s a real pleasure to be recognised by the Telecoms.com panel this year and “Pushing The Mobile Limits” is what our solution is all about. By extending the same self-organising principles that exist in small cell technologies to backhaul, we have delivered the only small cell backhaul solution that meets all the key requirements for operators – truly pushing the limits of what’s possible to achieve in outdoor small cell deployment.”
