We are very grateful to Welcome Skills for giving their time to work alongside our apprentices and student chefs to teach them how to create the perfect curry and make this event happen.
More than 100 people enjoyed the sell-out event at the college’s Park restaurant, with all the dishes cooked by apprentice chefs and full-time students working alongside national hospitality training company Welcome Skills.
The banquet, to mark National Apprenticeship Week, was organised by CRC’s apprenticeship team and Welcome Skills, who brought their top chefs along to the college for a day-long teach-in on the art of cooking a perfect Indian meal.
On the menu were authentic dishes including Lamb Kofta and Karai Prawn Masala, accompanied by traditional Indian music. A raffle of donated prizes helped boost funds for EACH, with diners digging deep to help the charity.
Laraine Moody, assistant principal and head of employer engagement at CRC, said the event had been a huge success.
“It was a fantastic evening and it was wonderful to see so many people turn out to experience a great meal and raise such a wonderful amount of money for EACH,” she said.
“Every penny we’ve raised will help a hugely worthwhile charity and I’m absolutely delighted that people were so generous in the raffle prizes they donated and the money they spent.”
