Many elderly people across Cambridgeshire will miss out on the celebrations most of us enjoy at Christmas. If you are looking after a spouse or partner who has a serious illness or disability like dementia, Parkinson's disease or cancer Christmas can be just another day of caring. Showering your husband or wife, dressing them, helping them around the house, cooking for them and feeding them, taking them to the loo or changing their pads, giving meds... It can be relentless. That's why Caring Together Charity welcomes these unpaid carers along to parties at Christmas-time. It's a rare opportunity to celebrate, rest, and enjoy the season! At our Shelford hub we had live music, mulled wine and plenty of mince pies!
