Cheffins to host a Private Preview of its Art and Design from 1860 Sale

On Monday 9th October, Cheffins Fine Art Department will host a private preview of its much-anticipated Art & Design from 1860 sale.

Guests will be able to view the lots on offer at the sale, including a previously unseen drawing by world-famous artist, Alberto Giacometti which has generated interest on a global scale. Other items available for viewing include original etchings by Pablo Picasso, a series of paintings by local artist, Ophelia Redpath, signed works by L. S. Lowry and a lithograph by Francis Bacon, alongside a series of rare and valuable furniture, ceramics, glassware and silverware.

Guests will also have the opportunity to listen to a talk from the distinguished speaker, Sacha Llewellyn who is the curator of the British Realist Painting in the 1920s and 1930s exhibition currently on view in Edinburgh.

All proceeds will be donated to the Education Department of the Fitzwilliam Museum to encourage art education for local children.

The event will take place on Monday 9 October from 6 – 8pm at Cheffins, Clifton House, Cambridge, CB1 7EA. Tickets are £15 and available by contacting fineart@cheffins.co.uk
