Cherry currently manages the Cambridge office for DP Connect, a specialist IT Recruitment Consultancy. She oversees a growing team of Recruiters and Resourcers, delivering permanent and contract recruitment solutions to clients throughout East Anglia.
Formerly of Hays PLC, Cherry has long been passionate about being an advocate for best practice in the Recruitment Industry. She was one of a select group of Consultants to complete a certification developed with the Institute of Consulting, which promoted a consultative approach to the recruitment process.
In her new role with the REC Cherry will be acting as a local representative for the organisation, sharing news about the national employment market and driving engagement with the REC's initiatives for best practice in Recruitment. She will be working closely with politicians and local proess to share this information with businesses in the local area.
Commenting on her appointment, Cherry said: "I am passionate about raising the profile of the recruitment industry and making sure that all recruitment consultants are offering a high quality and consultative services. As our economy grows and the war for talent gets tougher, our clients need us more than ever and we should be using this opportunity to show them how professional our industry is. We are in a unique position, to be able to give our clients and candidates insight into the wider employment market, and we have a duty to ensure they are well informed of the legislation regarding recruitment".
