Closures on A14 for bridge repairs

Road users are advised that there will be overnight closures on westbound A14 in Cambridgeshire from next week so bridge joint replacement work can be carried out safely.

The work, which will involve replacing the expansion joints over the bridge’s east abutments and resurfacing over the new joint, will be carried out overnight from Tuesday 15 to Friday 18 December.

During the work, we will need to close the westbound A14 from junctions 33 for Milton to junction 36 for Bottisham, between 9pm and 6am.

Highways England project manager Precilia Teeluck, said: “This essential work is necessary to ensure the continued safety of road users who use this stretch of the A14.

“We have timed the work to be carried out overnight when traffic levels are at their lowest and are advising drivers who would use the road while closures are in place to allow extra time for their journeys.”
