COEL provides conceptual design for the largest independent business and leisure venue in Northern Europe

Wyboston Lakes Resort is set in 380 acres of stunning countryside. Less than one hour from London, this is the largest independent business and leisure venue in Northern Europe. Wyboston Lake sought help from COEL in transforming its Willows Training Centre, from reception, restaurant and meeting facilities with a clever and thoughtful redesign.

COEL writes:

The great outdoors provided an instructive influence on how the interior should be styled. We wanted to create a creative and calm space; designed to encourage visitors to relax and feel at home. The palette has a pure alpine quality, focussing on natural subdued tones: snowy whites, muted greys with a shot of sky blue and evergreen to bring fresh energy in.

The wooden floors flow throughout the ground floor area. Patterned grey rugs and carpeting provide a softening to the acoustics as well as a grounding warmth, connecting the different spaces.

The contemporary board room is a light and modern space; which now has the extended capacity for 24 people. The design team worked had to make sure this area feels like a generous space but is at all times comfortable and welcoming. Throughout the design, carefully selected furniture and pendant lights bring a soft and homely look and feel.

For those who wish to fully switch off and relax there is “The Loft” which has been converted into a games room. A sense of creative revelry and excitement greet you as you enter the games room, triggering a suggestive ‘time to have fun.’

This is a destination venue, where all the elements come together to create a stage for all seasons complimenting and not competing with the outstanding natural vista.

"The conceptual design that COEL created for Wyboston Lakes has revolutionised the interior layout. Their ingenuity in space planning, choice of colours, textiles and furniture was spot on and led the way to creating an outstanding interior design," said Louisa Watson, Director of Marketing at Wyboston Lakes Resort.

In alignment with government guidelines, the Waterfront Hotel, Spa and Golf is currently shut for the duration of the current lockdown. The Willows Training Centre will remain open for essential business use, for training and for overnight accomodation, whilst operating under strict government guidelines, for those events that do go ahead.
