Staff at Harris and Hoole coffee shop, which is based in Huntingdon’s Tesco store, decided to support Papworth Trust after hearing about their services from a volunteer at the charity.
A keen supporter of community projects, it was the first time Harris and Hoole had organised a fundraising appeal via the online Just Giving platform and shop manager Elaine Corley was delighted with the response.
Elaine explained: “As a company, we decided to use Just Giving to further boost our fundraising for community projects.
“Papworth Trust was the first and we were delighted to raise over £375. We are grateful to everyone who supported the appeal.”
Elaine said she learned more about the charity through a regular customer who volunteers for Papworth Trust.
The money raised will go towards funding new equipment for the training kitchen at the Saxongate centre in Bradbury Place, Huntingdon.
Paul Dighton, services manager for Papworth Trust’s Cambridge and Huntingdon centres, said: “It is great that this fundraising came as a direct result of one of volunteers speaking so highly of our services and we would like to say a big thank you to Harris and Hoole for supporting us in this way.”
