Econergy has the solution
Econergy is committed to rolling out renewable heating and cooling solutions whilst meeting environmental and health and safety objectives. In summary, their solutions include:
- Biomass heating, this is the combustion of wood chip pellets or logs to provide heat and hot water. It is reliable, low cost and delivers sustainable C02 emissions.
- Heat pumps use a small amount of energy to extract latent heat from the air, ground, nearby lake or river and transfer it into the property.
- Solar thermal panels use energy from the sun to generate heating for domestic hot water, helping save money on energy bills.
Finding a new home
Econergy previously operated from two rurally-located converted barns near Sandy, Bedfordshire. Soon after they merged with heat pump specialist, Cool Planet, they required new premises to support their growing business need.
In 2012, Econergy set out to find a new home. Their prerequisites meant their new premises needed to reflect their commitment to sustainable, environmentally friendly and rewarding work conditions, whilst also supporting their rapidly increasing team of 40+ employees. They were used to rural green landscape surrounding their barns, and whilst the business needed more office, meeting and board room space, the well-being and quality of work-life surroundings for their team was not to be compromised.
Why Colworth Park?
Colworth Park is set in the tranquil serenity of Bedfordshire countryside. The Exchange building is a contemporary, state of the art meeting and conferencing location with office and lab space. Econergy found a home where they could design their own office space within picturesque, historic grounds at the heart of Colworth Park. The park engaged with Econergy on the layout and functionality of the new offices. Once Econergy had selected from the planning options provided, the team at Colworth carried out alterations to provide board rooms, two meeting rooms, store room, kitchen and extensive desk space.
Econergy have gone on to brand their offices with floor to ceiling brand identity vinyl, making this a personalised working space, designed to inspire and motivate.
This has been an affordable, inclusive office package for Econergy. With all the necessary benefits from clean, efficient office and conference spaces, free Wifi, onsite security, ample parking, technical support and a manned reception desk; to the work-life enhancing benefits of an onsite canteen, hospitality service and sports facilities. Plus the key benefit of an excellent central location, with great road, rail and flight links.
A community spirit
Tenants at Colworth Park not only have access to all the practical and business relevant benefits, but the park also hosts events, exhibitions and team building activities. Plus, all employees can enjoy extensive sports and leisure amenities. The 100-acre park provides access to a range of facilities, including sports pitches, tennis courts and a 9-hole golf course. On top of all of this tenants can join social groups such as book and CD clubs and an onsite choir. It is these social and networking opportunities that set Colworth Park aside from its competitors.
From strength to strength
Now in 2014, their 15th year, Econergy has achieved growth from 40+ employees to 70+ employees. The company has achieved 50% growth within a 10-year period.
Dawn Riggett, Econergy Marketing Manager, said: ‘We are a passionate team and we needed a place that shared our passion for sustainable eco-friendly practices, whilst giving us a quality of work-life, with added social benefits. It’s been a fantastic move for us, as a company and for our individuals. The work environment plus all the added community benefits has helped us both retain and encourage new staff. Our team is cohesive, productive and enjoying the work environment and support Colworth provides.’
