Copytrax launches small format waterproof inkjet printer

Copytrax has announced the launch of a new industrial desktop printer that enables the digital screen-printing of a wide range of materials including metal, glass and plastics.

Cambridge based digital printing machine manufacturer Copytrax has announced the launch of its new 'PrintMaster Dali' digital inkjet printer. The new 'PrintMaster Dali' is a desktop printer that enables the digital screen-printing of a wide range of materials including metal, glass and plastics. A key feature is its ability to provide durable waterproof print, something that was only previously available on bigger, far more expensive machines.

"Being able to digitally print durable waterproof images is a major breakthrough for such a small, relatively low cost machine," stated Steve Woods, Business Development Director at Copytrax. "A lot of research and development has gone into this machine and we are delighted with what we have achieved. The print quality is superb and we can see that the Dali will help us to further displace traditional screen-printing techniques with this faster, more flexible, more environmental digital approach."

Copytrax has been a developer of digital inkjet printing machines for many years. They remain a leader in the production of machines for the volume printing of CD's and DVD's. In recent years, the PrintMaster range of digital flatbed printers have been adopted by companies seeking a modern alternative to traditional screen-printing methods. Whether it’s engineering components or marketing consumables, the PrintMaster machines are able to print on command simply using an image file.

“The Dali has been built to be used for production in industry,” said Steve Woods. “For example, it has an all metal enclosure. It is also simple and easy to use and can be controlled from a Mac or PC. Another important feature of the Dali is that ink costs are low in comparison to similar dye sublimation printers.”

The Dali will print on materials up to 3mm thick, making it ideal for metal decals, glass, USB cards, loyalty cards and similar consumables. At its launch the Dali was setup to print CD/DVD discs & Plastic ID Cards. Other machines in the PrintMaster range are able to print on thicker materials. Jigs for holding the objects for printing can be provided by Copytrax. They are able to laser cut jigs on demand for users of their PrintMaster range.
