The college is spearheading a new Advanced Apprenticeship in the sector after the success of its Intermediate Apprenticeship programme among employers in hospitals, medical research laboratories and manufacturing companies.
The apprenticeships, designed to train the scientists of the future, combine employment with learning at college, usually one day a week.

The Intermediate Apprenticeship is aimed at school leavers with GCSEs looking to start a career in science, while the Advanced Apprenticeship offers the chance to develop their skills and knowledge to take them on to the next stage of their career.
