MasterClass: Demystifying Bayes Rule
Wednesday 5 December 2012 09:30 am to 5:00 pm
Pullman London St Pancras, 100 - 110 Euston Road, London NW1 2AJ
Bayes Theorem is becoming increasingly important in interpreting statistical data in the life sciences for clinical trials of new drugs and devices, diagnostic tests, and health care policy decisions.
BayesTheorem, when expressed mathematically, is a simple and uncontroversial result in probability theory, but too often its application becomes clouded in mystery. This MasterClass is designed to remove much of the mystery by presenting Bayes Theorem in accesible non-mathematical terms, and describing its application in life sciences and healthcare.
The MasterClass is at an introductory/intermediate level. No prior knowledge of statistics or probability theory is required, but some familiarity with Excel spreadsheets is helpful.
Registration fee £450+VAT includes all MasterClass materials, lunch and refreshments. Discount of 10% for two or more delegates from the same organisation. Advanced registration is required.
