For those of you unfamiliar with CamSight's Dining in the Dark events, guests are blindfolded for both the starter and dessert – although they are allowed to eat the main course ‘sighted’. The talented chefs at The Red Lion provide a selection of ‘taster’ dishes and the diners have to identify the ingredients in each dish – harder than it sounds. A bottle of champagne will be awarded to the winning table.
On a slightly more serious note, the evening also gives everyone a chance to experience what it is like to eat when you cannot see your food and have no idea of the flavours or textures of food that you will be eating – let alone know where they are on the plate!
