The North Pole Festival at Parker’s Piece, in association with community health and wellbeing group, The Open Gym, are encouraging everyone to kick-start their new year’s resolutions and pick-up their skates this Twixmas.
During the Twixmas break, which is usually the festive period between Christmas and the New Year, the rink will be open every day until 8 January, with Christmas opening times applying to certain days.
The North Pole Festival, which boasts its largest-ever ice rink is available for beginners and accomplished skaters to get active and skate off those turkey dinners and puddings.
The Open Gym, based in Cambridge, is an online video led project across social media channel YouTube, which promotes healthy living through alternative sports.
Ice skating is a popular seasonal activity to keep a healthy, body and mind. Stability, control and strength are the core areas where ice skating can be of benefit.
