Everyone who registered and is eligible to vote will now have received a poll card – although people do not need their poll card to vote, they simply need to give their name and address to the polling clerk.
There will be 48 polling stations at 35 sites open across the city from 7am until 10pm (see list below). All are accessible to people with a mobility or visual disability. Residents’ polling station is listed on their poll card and can also be found on the council’s website or by phoning 01223 457048.
The count for the local elections will take place at The Guildhall overnight on Thursday-Friday with the result expected early on Friday morning. The count for the PCC election will begin at 12 noon on Friday 6 May, with overall results for the county to be announced at the Ross Peers Sports Centre in Soham. Updates of results for both elections will be available at cambridge.gov.uk
Antoinette Jackson, returning officer for the local elections in Cambridge and local returning officer for the PCC election, said: “It is important that people remember to come and vote in these elections. This is your opportunity to have a say in decisions that will directly affect you.”
