The Festival's founder, Alessandra Caggiano, has stepped down from her role as artistic director at Cambridge Live.
Now e-Luminate Studio, led by Alessandra, has developed a new ‘light inspired’ programme. The company works with clients such as The University of Cambridge, Canary Wharf, Beaulieu Enterprises and many others to create unforgettable experiences with light art and projections, animating facades and public spaces, with the aim to adding value by increasing site visitors’ numbers, producing compelling stories for marketing and PR and boosting local economies.
Working in collaboration with Anglia Ruskin University as part of a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Innovation Bridge programme, the e-Luminate Studio is expanding its support to local and regional community and charity efforts. Dr Michael B Duignan, Senior Lecturer in the Business School at Anglia Ruskin University is advising the studio on new bolt-on light installations and app services tailored for both new and existing cultural events and festivals. “It has been a pleasure meeting with Alessandra and scope out what the future of the industry might look like in ten, 20 years. As a local innovator, she is looking for new, novel ways to work with and help market charities, local businesses, events and festivals through the creative use of light!”
To kick start the programme, e-Luminate Studio is collaborating with EACH - the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices – for the Light Up EACH Life campaign which will launch in December 2018 and will see a variety of Cambridge buildings illuminated in EACH’s colours of purple and orange.
This new lighting experience will celebrate the children and young people with life-threatening conditions who are supported by EACH. The charity, which has three hospices, needs to raise £6 million a year to continue the vital services provided to families across East Anglia. EACH is currently caring for and supporting 816 children, young people & family members across the region.
Polly West, EACH Community Fundraiser in Cambridgeshire, said: “We are excited to be working with e-Luminate Studio on our Light Up EACH Life campaign. Please keep an eye out for more details on the event in the coming months and support the vital services EACH provides to local families.”
Alessandra Caggiano, who founded e-Luminate Studio in 2012 to bring colour and light to public places and buildings, is enhancing the development of the company’s portfolio following her departure from Cambridge Live.
“Having launched the e-Luminate Cambridge Festival in 2013, it has been fantastic to scale up and grow the programme into one of Cambridge’s largest cultural festivals,” said Caggiano, “Now I really look forward to working with local businesses, charities, events and festivals across 2018-2019 and beyond!”
