Echion Technologies attains ISO 9001 certification, signaling quality management of XNO® fast-charging battery anode materials

Echion’s Dr Sarah Stevenson, Chief Operating Officer, and Laura Cooper-Mynott, Quality Manager

UK based advanced materials supplier, Echion Technologies (Echion), has announced it has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification for its fast-charging XNO® battery anode materials. This important step highlights Echion's commitment to superior quality and its capability to meet the surging demand for its cutting-edge materials.

ISO 9001 is the international standard that outlines the quality management systems (QMS) principles that over a million companies and organisations adhere to worldwide. Organisations employ the standard to demonstrate the ability to ensure consistent, high-quality product manufacturing and services that meet regulatory requirements. As Echion continues its global expansion, achieving ISO 9001 certification is a common requirement to supply global customers.

Laura Cooper-Mynott, Quality Manager at Echion, said: “It is a huge accomplishment to have achieved ISO 9001 certification given the relative early stage of our company growth journey. The certification validates our commitment to adhering to the highest industry quality standards for our products and highlights the strong culture of customer service that we have worked hard to establish here. I am so proud of every member of our team for the hard work that went into achieving this important step forward for our company.”

As well as achieving ISO 9001 certification, Echion is the first company in its industry to guarantee the supply of mixed niobium anode oxides grade at scale. It’s flagship anode material, XNO®, allows battery manufacturers to produce Li-ion cells with market-leading fast-charging capabilities, safety, and cycle-life, optimised for use in heavy duty applications. Applications powered by XNO® include battery electric and hybrid trains, mining haul trucks, high-demand buses, and delivery vehicles, as well as applications in motorsport and space.

Sarah Stevenson, Chief Operating Officer at Echion, said: “This milestone clearly demonstrates our ability to meet the demands of cell manufacturers and OEMs across the supply chain. Achieving ISO 9001 certification proves that we have the necessary structures and procedures in place to provide our customers with a quality-assured market leading product – not only now – but also in the future as we scale up production and expand into further territories. Echion is primed and ready to revolutionise the world of heavy-duty transport with our XNO® niobium anode material.”
