Innovative technology and design consultancy Cambridge Design Partnership is sponsoring and introducing an event focused on the Bloodhound Project – the UK’s attempt to build a jet and rocket-powered car that will exceed 1,000 miles per hour, demonstrating the cutting edge of UK engineering. Organised with Cambridge Network, the evening event takes place on Thursday November 7th at Robinson College, Cambridge.
Tony Parraman, Head of Sponsor Liaison at Bloodhound will be speaking, introducing the aims, challenges and timescales of the project, as well as showcasing footage of testing that the SuperSonic car has undergone so far. There will be a model of the car present, along with Bloodhound official merchandise, and the ‘Bloodhound Driving Experience’ sit-in driving game for those wishing to have a go at breaking the world land speed record!
Cambridge Design Partnership is the main sponsor of the event, and partner Mike Beadman will be speaking about the company’s involvement in developing the Bloodhound steering wheel. Cambridge Design Partnership took the initial concepts and developed them into a design that met the demanding requirements expected during the record attempt.
A speaker from Cosworth, which has been supporting the rocket programme, will also be presenting about their involvement with the Bloodhound Project.
Speaking about the event, Mike Beadman, Cambridge Design Partnership said: “We are proud to support the Bloodhound initiative, as we believe it is vital to inspire young people to become scientists and engineers of the future. This event highlights the Cambridge connection with the Bloodhound Project, and showcases the different ways that cutting-edge engineering companies are on board to support this exciting adventure.”
Further details about the event will be confirmed closer to the date. For more information or to book a place, please go to www.cambridgenetwork.co.uk/events/cambridge-network-event-bloodhound-project/
