Espial showcases advanced TV user experience based on RDK at CableLabs® summer conference

OTTAWA, Ontario — Espial, a leader in on-demand TV software and solutions, today announced its participation at the upcoming 2014 CableLabs® Summer Conference taking place between August 3-6 in Keystone, Colo.

Espial, a leader in on-demand TV software and solutions, today announced its participation at the upcoming 2014 CableLabs® Summer Conference taking place between August 3-6 in Keystone, Colo. Espial will demonstrate a high performance TV user experience demo complete with portals and video applications based on HTML5 and Reference Design Kit (RDK). The CableLabs Summer Conference is a private event for cable operators and demonstrating vendors.

The Espial demo will feature several user experience portals, custom sports apps, as well as seamless access to favorite HTML5 Web apps such as YouTube. Leveraging the Espial STB Client and Application Framework, the user experience will demonstrate super-fast video apps – including guide, video-on-demand and favorites – on multiple set-top box platforms.

Leveraging open industry standards and initiatives, Espial client solutions are recognized internationally for delivering exceptional user experiences for consumers on set-top boxes and smart TVs. The Espial STB Client – based on HTML5 and  – extends the capabilities of  with an application framework and user experience framework to provide a common application engine for MSOs.  This ensures that MSOs can achieve Web speed designing and deploying the richest, highest performance user experiences possible across a wide range of set-top-box platforms—from legacy platforms to home gateways.
