Bats for beginners
This Saturday (25th August), children and their families can visit Wandlebury for an introduction to bats. After a talk from the rangers, attendees can make a bat box to take home and then head out for a walk to try and catch sight of some winged mammals as the sun sets. The event runs from 6pm to 9:30pm. Dress according to the weather and bring a torch if you wish. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Booking essential. £8 per bat box (£6.00 for members).
We’re going on a bug hunt
On Tuesday 28th August let your kids go crazy searching for creepy crawlies. Try sweep netting, tree shaking and woodland floor foraging at Wandlebury. Then create your own bug home from natural and recycled materials. The event runs from 10am to 12:30pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Booking is essential. £6.50 per child / £5.00 for CambridgePPF members. No charge for adults.
Find some feathered friends
On Wednesday 29th August keep your eyes and ears peeled for the signs and sounds of birds that live at Wandlebury. Become a bird-watcher from the Banyard Hide and under supervision examine owl pellets to find out what these wise old creatures like to eat! The event runs from 10am to 12:30pm. Children must be over five years old and accompanied by an adult. Booking is essential. £6.50 per child / £5.00 for CambridgePPF members. No charge for adults.
