Exclusively test drive silent BMW at UNITE business event

Elms BMW Cambourne is giving people the chance to exclusively test drive its ActiveE silent car at the landmark UNITE Summer Business Forum next week (10 July).

The revolutionary model is the perfect vehicle to drive home the message of sustainability, which is the key focus of the free networking event at the dealership on 10 July. Nearly 50 notable local businesses will be collaborating for mutual gain at UNITE, making it the largest ever event of its nature in Cambridgeshire.

The energy for the BMW ActiveE comes from a mains socket, although the recharging process is much faster at public charging stations. Within four to five hours, the BMW ActiveE is “full” of energy for up to 160 kilometres of environmentally friendly driving.

Elms BMW dealer principal Steve Penman, who was recently recognised globally by BMW for his dealership’s contribution to driving business growth, said: “Showcasing the ActiveE at UNITE is helping us bring to a local level BMW’s global ‘Vision of future mobility’, which prioritises reducing CO2 emissions by using renewable resources and electric cars for the future. Our £8.5 million premises is the perfect host venue because it showcases a range of renewable energy solutions, including energy efficient lighting. We are always striving to increase performance but sustainability is at the forefront of our minds, and that's the message we'll all be spreading at the Summer Business Forum.”

UNITE’s keynote speakers include Big Issue founder John Bird, BT futurologist Dr Nicola Millard and Sky Rainforest Rescue Manager at BSkyB, Sarah Anderson. Cambridgeshire companies are being urged to attend and soak up the free expertise on offer at the event, which will focus on a thinktank ideas exchange. Discussion topics include social media, technology, increasing profitability, social enterprise, and skills & development.
