ExecuJet Europe introduces largest managed aircraft at new Cambridge base

ExecuJet Europe has just introduced the largest aircraft in its managed fleet – a VIP MD-87 – which has made its home at the company’s newest FBO, Cambridge Airport, UK. The aircraft is owned by a private customer, a new client for ExecuJet, and it is regularly flying back and forth to the Middle East.

“Our UK Operations is set to grow further in the months ahead,” commented ExecuJet UK Manager John Brutnell.  Several additional mid-size, large cabin aircraft are set to join the fleet in the next few months, bolstering its total European fleet to over 50 aircraft.

“The MD-87 is the biggest aircraft in our fleet, following closely after the introduction of the Lineage 1000, now available for charter out of Dubai. Cambridge Airport’s long runway, attractive opening hours, the FBO’s privacy and discretion were all very pleasing for our owner,” says Brutnell, who is also helping the new UK FBO gear up for the Olympics. John moved over from ExecuJet at London City Airport from early January when the company took over the FBO from the Marshall Group.

The MD-87 joins a brand new, factory fresh Dassault Falcon 900LX, also based at Cambridge Airport, which is now available for third party charter.  Configured with 14 VIP executive seats in a light and airy cabin, it is the first in the series to sport EASy Phase II avionics, which offers pilots not only synthetic vision for safe landings in bad weather, but also a runway-awareness system. Another recent addition to the European fleet is an Embraer Legacy 650 - which is currently available for charter positioned out of Marseilles in the south of France.  Two Global XRS available for charter have also joined the ExecuJet fleet in Geneva and Moscow.

ExecuJet currently has a team of over 40 experienced personnel based at the London Cambridge facility, providing a full range of services including FBO, Charter, Maintenance management and Aircraft management.  Flexibility key to handling Olympics traffic, says  Brutnell.

“Our mantra is flexibility,” states John Brutnell. “We have the capability to park up to 90 plus aircraft at Cambridge Airport during the Games and we are firming up our collaborative partners so it all runs smoothly.”

One new agreement is preferred supplier status for chauffeur company First Class Cars, which is expanding its ground transport fleet – saloon Mercedes and VIP coaches - ready for the summer.  ”We see the summer as not just a strong showcase for our new UK FBO, but a good charter opportunity too, as we have doubled our European charter fleet offering over the last year.”

ExecuJet’s Cambridge facility has also recently introduced FBO One as their main business system which is currently used throughout many of the worldwide ExecuJet FBOs including Zurich, Berlin, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Dubai and Paris (owned and operated by Advanced Air Support).
