Face-to-face hands-on HPLC & LC-MS training now available from Anthias Consulting - book now!

Anthias Consulting is pleased to announce a date for its Hands-on Complete HPLC & LC-MS training course.

Face to face training returns in March_ banner

The course will take place on 21st – 25th March 2022 hosted by Anthias Consulting's partner Providion, at its technical training facility in Manchester.

The course provides a complete hands-on training solution over five days, teaching all the essential theory of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, along with hands-on practical elements in the laboratory to practise and reinforce the knowledge. The training is universal, applicable to all makes and models of instrumentation, and gradually builds delegates’ knowledge through 50% theory and 50% practical exercises on the instruments.

The course is approved by the Royal Society of Chemistry for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), underlining the high-quality standard of the training course materials along with demonstrating continual appraisal and improvement of the course.

The structure of the course builds delegates’ knowledge throughout the course, going into a high level of detail on each stage of analysis and the individual instrument components.

Starting with an introduction to the techniques of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, the course guides delegates through the function and operation of the instrumentation. Delegates then use this knowledge in the laboratory to create methods and gain experience in adjusting the parameters and seeing the effects, along with analysing the data.

This is followed by the importance of maintenance and recognising signs of when maintenance is required, with practicals carrying out maintenance on a liquid chromatograph and mass spectrometer. The final day looks at how to go about troubleshooting HPLC and LC-MS instruments and what problems can occur, with real problem solving on the instruments and data analysis software.

The practical aspects of the course give users the ideal chance to practice what they are learning with guidance from the course instructor within a small class size, for focused support.

Providion's modern training facility hosts a suite of instrumentation from multiple manufacturers, providing a great setting for hands-on learning.

Places are limited and the team anticipates high demand for their first scheduled face-to-face training course since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Those who are completely new to the techniques are advised to first attend the Absolute Basics of HPLC & LC-MS, aimed at beginners. This course is scheduled to take place on 24th January as a live Virtual Classroom course, so can be attended prior to the Hands-on course in March.

Meanwhile, Anthias has a packed calendar of scheduled Virtual Classroom courses available January – April – see the Anthias website to view and download the course calendar.

On the return to face-to-face training, Anthias Consulting’s Director and Senior Consultant Diane Turner said: “We've had so many enquiries for face-to-face training and we’re so pleased to meet our customer’s needs with this course. We’re excited to be returning to training delegates on the instruments where we can really impart all our knowledge and experience. By showing analysts and them having the opportunity to have a go themselves, provides such an invaluable learning environment. We're looking forward to working with our partners Providion and to warmly welcoming delegates to their fantastic training facility.”
