Find out about future of Coton Countryside Reserve

Join Cambridge Past, Present & Future (CambridgePPF) for an open evening next Tuesday (30 September) at Coton Village Hall. Meet the charity’s properties team and listen to their vision for the future development of Coton Countryside Reserve – a 300-acre site, located just a few miles west of Cambridge, which offers quiet recreational opportunities for local people.

At 6:30pm the CambridgePPF team will give a presentation outlining recent achievements at the reserve and projects in the pipeline. From 7:30pm there will be a drop in session where attendees can view and discuss emerging plans for phase three of the site’s development.

Comprising pasture and agricultural land traversed by a network of footpaths, Coton Countryside Reserve is a great example of how green belt land can be farmed and managed for public access. CambridgePPF has owned land at Coton since the 1930s and has been actively investing in the reserve for the last decade.

Philip Robson, Head of Properties at CambridgePPF, said: “Over the last ten years we’ve made lots of positive changes at Coton Countryside Reserve, creating wildlife habitats, a hilltop picnic area and routes for walkers, cyclists, runners, disabled people and horse riders that link to adjacent public footpaths and bridleways. With the site growing in popularity and gaining more visitors every year, we want to engage with thelocal community, share our plans and find out what people would like us to deliver at this special place. Like Wandlebury, our other green space, Coton Countryside Reserve is an important recreational asset that we manage for the enjoyment of everyone that lives in and around Cambridge. We hope lots of people will come along to our event to discover what it can offer them now – and in the future.”
