Cambridge-based, leading independent establishment the Stephen Perse Foundation, is one of just two UK schools selected by Scool to contribute a case study to this exciting project. The project will encompass 100 case studies highlighting inspiring innovations alongside 100 thought leader interviews and 100 experiments in Finnish schools to trial new approaches. Findings will be shared freely with educators around the world, through a book, a documentary, seminars, a digital platform and a bespoke YouTube channel.
For decades Finland’s school system has been considered one of the best in the world, however its PISA* ranking and learning outcomes have recently been in slight decline. HundrED aims to help Finland maintain a world-leading education system, by shaping its approach for the next 100 years. It will ask fundamental questions about learning and the skills citizens require for the 21st century, culminating in 2017 to coincide with Finland’s centenary of independence.
The Foundation’s case study will share its ‘future-focused’ approach to education that goes far beyond achieving outstanding exam results. By putting creativity at the heart of learning and actively encouraging different ways of thinking, the Foundation offers a depth of learning for 3-18-year-olds that prepares them for a future in an ever-changing, digital world.
Tricia Kelleher, Principal of the Stephen Perse Foundation comments: “It is an honour and a privilege to be chosen to represent the UK, in such a forward-thinking, global initiative that celebrates creativity in learning and has the potential to shape future policy. Innovation is part of everything we do and we welcome opportunities to share our experiences with other educators to evolve a better way of preparing young people, all around the world, for the challenges of the future.”

About the Stephen Perse Foundation
The Stephen Perse Foundation is different. We prepare young people for life in an ever-changing, global and digital world. Through our global outlook we connect students to a world of inspiring opportunities.
By teaching students to think for themselves, we achieve exceptional results – but for us, education is not just about grades. We see the individual behind the results. We develop strength of character, a sense of social responsibility and an ability to innovate and collaborate.
By celebrating diversity and collaboration in school and with our wider community we encourage students to choose a path that is right for them. We recognise potential in every child and inspire young people to achieve their dreams - guiding them every step of the way.
A Stephen Perse Foundation education is about character – about who you become. Find out more: http://www.stephenperse.com/about
