The second annual Vice Chancellor’s Outstanding Alumni Awards have been launched and Anglia Ruskin is calling for nominations for former students that deserve recognition in their respective fields.

Nominations can be made for the following categories:

  • Alumni Service to Society
  • Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Alumni Contribution to Culture
  • Young Alumni of the Year (nominees must be under 35 on 31 October)
  • Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award.

Professor Iain Martin, Vice Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University, said: “A high proportion of our students are from the East of England and continue to make huge contributions to our region when they graduate.

“We want to recognise these contributions and I hope as many as possible will get in touch for our annual awards. When you graduate from Anglia Ruskin, you remain part of our extended family - we are proud of our alumni and all they achieve.”

Nominations must be received by 11.59pm on Friday 28 July. The winners will receive their prize at a celebration event on Thursday 30 November, hosted by BBC television presenter and Anglia Ruskin lecturer, Ben Garrod, who is also an alumnus.

The awards are open to former students of all colleges and institutes that now form part of Anglia Ruskin University. More information can be found at http://www.anglia.ac.uk/about-us/our-history. For further information on how to nominate someone for an award, visit www.anglia.ac.uk/alumniawards
