Free online learning platform provides digital skills to business

Cambridge Judge Business School faculty has developed three courses – in marketing, brand-building and finance – for the new Digital Business Academy, the world’s first government-supported online learning platform being launched today in London.

The Digital Business Academy provides business and digital skills to any UK resident starting, growing or joining a digital business. It will “open up our great universities and provide the know-how to help hardworking people get on in life, reinforcing the UK’s position as a leading digital economy,” said Prime Minister David Cameron.

Tech City UK developed the new Digital Business Academy in partnership with University College London (UCL) in order to respond to rising demand from employers for workers with digital skills. Courses have been developed by faculty from Cambridge Judge, UCL and Founder Centric, a startup school, and more than 1,000 people have already signed up during the pre-registration phase.

The courses developed by Cambridge Judge Business School faculty are “Make a Marketing Plan” and “Build a Brand” by Jaideep Prabhu, Jawaharlal Nehru Professor of Indian Business & Enterprise, and “Master Finance for your Business” by Simon Stockley, Senior Teaching Faculty in Entrepreneurship. The material developed by the Cambridge Judge team includes more than 100 videos and other multimedia resources.

“We are really proud to be participating in the Digital Business Academy, and we look forward to helping people throughout the UK build essential digital skills,” said Joanna Mills, deputy director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning at Cambridge Judge.

"The three courses we have developed will help people market, brand and manage their digital businesses."
